Police have discovered the body of a woman on Munnings Road amid the ongoing and agonizing search for 30-year-old Lauren Saunders, a seven-months-pregnant mother of two who has been missing since Sunday afternoon.

Saunders was last seen leaving her workplace on October 19. Her sudden disappearance sparked a desperate search by family and friends, which intensified after her vehicle was located on Coral Harbour Road earlier this week.

Volunteers combed the surrounding areas for hours on Monday, hoping for a breakthrough.

Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the deceased woman, and officials have cordoned off the area near where the body was found. However, members of Saunders' family gathered behind the yellow police tape, visibly distraught. Some cried out in anguish, while others pleaded with officers to allow them past the barrier in hopes of confirming whether the body is indeed that of their loved one.

“This is unbearable,” said one relative. We just want to know if it’s her.”

Investigators have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding the discovery, and no cause of death has yet been released. Police forensic teams were seen documenting the scene and removing evidence late into the morning.
