The Progressive Liberal Party drew thousands of supporters to Clifford Park on Saturday night in what party officials described as their largest rally of the 2026 general election campaign season so far.

Supporters dressed in PLP colors flooded the park hours before the main event, waving flags, dancing to music and cheering as party leaders and candidates took the stage ahead of Tuesday’s general election.

Among those addressing the crowd were Prime Minister and PLP Leader Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper, Englerston MP Glenys Hanna-Martin, Nassau Village MP Jamahl Strachan and Fort Charlotte candidate Sebas Bastian.

Addressing the energized crowd, Davis acknowledged that the governing party had made mistakes during its time in office but urged supporters to focus on the progress achieved under the PLP administration.

“The PLP is not a perfect party,” Davis told supporters. “We have made some errors along the way, but don’t let perfection get in the way of progress.”

His remarks drew loud applause from the packed audience, with supporters chanting and waving party paraphernalia throughout the speech.

Bastian, who is contesting the Fort Charlotte constituency, used his address to outline plans aimed at expanding affordable housing opportunities for Bahamians. He pledged to “take Fort Charlotte higher” through the development of a new housing subdivision designed to make homeownership more attainable for Bahamian families.

Saturday night’s event marked a major show of strength for the governing party as campaigning enters its final days before the May 12 vote. The atmosphere at Clifford Park remained lively throughout the night, with supporters continuing celebrations with a concert long after speeches concluded.

The PLP is scheduled to hold another rally in New Providence on Monday night as parties make their final push to mobilize voters ahead of election day.
