Teen girl’s suicide attempt thwarted

A 14-year-old girl attempted to end her life on Sunday at a home on Peach Street, off Montrose Avenue.


The teen reportedly used a sharp instrument to inflict injuries to her upper left arm.


However, a family member intervened and prevented her from carrying out further harm to herself.


The girl was transported to the hospital by ambulance for further medical attention and evaluation.


It comes on the heels of a woman’s attempted suicide on the Paradise Island Bridge and a 47-year-old man attempted to take his own life in Abaco.
