Teen driver in deadly crash arrested

Police have taken a 19-year-old man into custody as investigations continue into the tragic traffic collision that claimed the lives of four young women on Shirley Street early Sunday morning.
Police confirmed that the driver involved in the June 28 crash, which occurred in the area of Shirley Street and Church Street, is assisting officers with their ongoing investigation.
The victims have been identified as Stania Webb, Diamond Stubbs, Betrica Brown and Evalena Johnson.
According to police, the group was travelling in a vehicle with four other passengers when the driver reportedly lost control before crashing into a tree.
Webb, Stubbs and Brown were pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson sustained critical injuries and was transported to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The four remaining passengers were also hospitalized for treatment. Police have not released an update on their conditions.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including what may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
