PM Davis returns to The Bahamas after surgery

Prime Minister Philip Davis returned to the Bahamas on Wednesday afternoon following a week-long medical trip to the United States. Davis had traveled to the U.S. from London, where he had been attending meetings, to undergo surgery for sciatica, a condition causing significant pain along the sciatic nerve.

Davis arrived on a Delta Airlines flight and was warmly welcomed by his wife, Ann Marie Davis, and Minister of Health Dr. Michael Darville.

Davis expressed his gratitude to Bahamians for their well-wishes and support during his procedure and recovery.

“I am in good shape and very happy to be home,” Davis said. “The surgery was successful, and I’m eager to get back to work.”

Earlier this month, the office of the prime minister announced Davis’s planned trip to the U.S. for the treatment of sciatica, which had been causing him considerable discomfort.

The condition affects the sciatic nerve, which extends from the lower back through the buttocks and down each leg.

With his recovery progressing well, Davis says he is looking forward to resuming his duties as the nation’s leader.
