Plane crashes in Long Island; minister’s daughter onboard

A small seven-seater plane crashed moments after takeoff from the airport on Long Island this morning.

One of the passengers is said to be the daughter of Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) cabinet minister Alfred Sears.

Bradley McPhee was also on the aircraft, which crashed into bushes.

It is believed bad weather conditions may have been a factor.

Rescue teams have been mobilized to assist the pilot and passengers.

Preliminary reports indicate there were no casualties. However, there may be injuries.

Long Island was a hub of activity this week as hundreds of people, including government and opposition officials, took part in the island’s regatta.

However, some festival goers decided to leave the regatta ahead of schedule as weather conditions started to change with wind gusts in excess of 20 miles per hour.
