The governing Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) officially ratified its first group of candidates for the upcoming general election during a special event held tonight, unveiling a slate of 13 individuals — the majority of whom are current Members of Parliament seeking another term in office.

Among those ratified are several Cabinet ministers and backbenchers, signaling the party’s confidence in its incumbent team and continuity of leadership.

List of Ratified Candidates:

• Pia Glover-Rolle – Golden Gates

• JoBeth Coleby-Davis - Elizabeth

• Jomo Campbell – Centreville

• Leslia Miller-Brice – Seabreeze

• Mario Bowleg – Garden Hills

• Sebas Bastian – Fort Charlotte

• Mckell Bonaby – Mount Moriah

• Jamahl Strachan – Nassau Village

• Darren Pickstock – Golden Isles

• Keith Bell – Carmichael

• Bacchus Rolle – South Beach

• Leon Lundy – Mangrove Cay, Central and South Andros

The ratification marks the first official announcement of candidates by the PLP ahead of the 2025 general election cycle. Party officials emphasized experience, community engagement, and delivery of results as key factors in the selection process.

Several of the ratified candidates hold ministerial portfolios, and their inclusion in this initial group underscores the PLP’s intent to run on its governance record over the past term. Notably, this is the first time businessman Sebas Bastian has been ratified as a candidate under the PLP banner, making him a new political entrant in Fort Charlotte.

More ratification announcements are expected in the coming weeks as the PLP gears up its campaign machinery across the country.
