A 19-year-old woman who was initially reported missing has been confirmed as the fourth victim of Sunday's tragic traffic collision at the intersection of Shirley Street and Church Street, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

Police said Evalena Johnson was reported missing on Monday, June 29, after relatives told investigators they had not seen or heard from her since Saturday, June 27. A 22-year-old family member filed the missing person report with officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, prompting police to issue a public appeal seeking assistance in locating the teenager, who was last seen in the Adelaide Village area.

However, in a heartbreaking development, police confirmed that Ms. Johnson was positively identified by family members at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Authorities said she was among the victims killed in the fatal traffic collision that occurred early Sunday morning.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force extended

its deepest condolences to Ms. Johnson's family and loved ones, as well as to the families of the other victims.

"Our thoughts remain with all families across The Bahamas who are grieving the loss of their loved ones during this difficult time," the police said in a statement.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain ongoing.
