Glover-Rolle slams FNM’s “Erroneous” claims on PS-PEP appointments

Minister of Labour and Public Service Pia Glover-Rolle has rejected claims made by former Public Service Minister Brensil Rolle, calling them "erroneous" and misleading.

The former minister had criticized the Davis Administration’s recent appointment of 725 PS-PEP participants to the public service, questioning the discrepancy with the 1,200 participants reportedly appointed under the Minnis Administration.

Minister Glover-Rolle clarified that the 725 appointments were part of a broader effort to address administrative errors left by the previous government.

“The 1,200 participants whose appointment processes were initiated by the Minnis Administration were honored by the Davis Administration,” she explained. “However, some were not properly processed due to rushed procedures, leaving gaps that we have since addressed.”

She added that the new appointments included both current and past participants who had fallen through the cracks, particularly those who had received letters that were never processed. These individuals were now receiving retroactive payments and stability in their positions.

Glover-Rolle further criticized the Minnis Administration for its handling of public service issues, pointing to halted increments, the lack of promotions, and unaddressed industrial agreements.

“Under their watch, public servants suffered,” she said, highlighting the Davis Administration’s efforts to clear backlogs, improve pay, and sign over 30 industrial agreements.

Reaffirming the current administration’s commitment to reimagining the public service, Glover-Rolle concluded, “We will continue to give public servants the respect, dignity, and stability they deserve.”
