Accused Cuban sex worker denied bail

A Cuban woman has been denied bail after being charged with prostitution.

Yudith Lersis Gonzalez, 35, is accused of living off prostitution between December 1, 2023 and February 17, 2024.

The alleged sex worker is accused of charging her clients $150 per session.

Gonzalez didn’t have to enter a plea to the charge when she appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.

She returns to court on May 6 to receive a voluntary bill of indictment.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez’s 42-year-old landlord Shannon Bannister is accused of allowing his place in Ardastra Gardens to be used as a brothel.

He denied this and was granted $1,500 bail. His trial is set for April 5.
