Three police officers, including former Police Staff Association chief Sonny Miller, are under investigation after they were implicated in an illegal drug trafficking operation involving Colombian nationals.
Authorities, acting on information, tracked a drug flight from South America to The Bahamas. When the DEA helicopter landed on Acklins, agents caught three police officers who appeared to be assisting the foreign drug traffickers.
The Colombians indicated that the Bahamian officers assisted them in offloading the drugs and securing more fuel.
The officers were arrested and are being investigated.
