Security scare as armed man arrested at court

An armed man found lurking in a restricted area at the South Street Magistrates’ Court Complex has been jailed for one month.

Corporal 3330 Johnson arrested Sanchez Miller after he was found at the back entrance used by magistrates on December 14.

Corporal Johnson searched Miller and found a knife in his pocket.

Miller, 39, of Bacardi Avenue, was charged with trespassing and unlawfully carrying arms.

Miller pleaded guilty. He claimed that he didn’t know that the area was restricted. He said that he went up the stairs to ask a woman to clean her car.

Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt warned Miller on the trespassing charge and sentenced him to one month for the knife.
