A subcontractor for the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) was murdered in cold blood as he was working in the Kemp Road area this afternoon.
The 42-year-old man was working on a tractor in a yard near Apache Alley after 4pm when a gunman dressed in dark-colored clothing shot him.
The subcontractor collapsed and fell facedown on the ground where he died. Residents of Kemp Road ran to the scene after hearing gunshots. They discovered the man’s body on the ground. He is not a resident of the area.
His relatives were also on the scene and claimed the victim was not a troublesome person and did not deserve to meet such a violent death.
He is the 39th person to be killed in The Bahamas this year. Earlier this week, gunmen shot a man with dreadlocks in his head and dumped his body on Cowpen Road.
