Police officers shot and killed a man after he allegedly pointed a toy gun at them on Saturday morning.
The incident unfolded around 1am on Hospital Lane.
Officers were called to the area following an armed robbery at Delancy Street.
While in search of the robber, the officers encountered the suspect while patrolling Hospital Lane North.
Police claim that the suspect pointed a gun at them, putting them in fear of their lives.
The officers shot the man in the head multiple times.
Police later learned that the gun wasn’t real and that the suspect was wearing a bulletproof vest.
The identity of the man has not been released.
He is the second man killed by police officers this year.
