PM Davis plays cricket with Caribbean leaders in Antigua and Barbuda

Prime Minister Philip Davis joined fellow Caribbean and Commonwealth leaders on the cricket field on Sunday as international diplomacy took a sporting turn during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Davis participated in the high-profile exhibition cricket match, “One Commonwealth, One Team – A Commonwealth Cricket Celebration,” held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda.
The event brought together heads of government, senior regional officials and representatives from across the Commonwealth in a celebration of cricket, friendship and international cooperation.
The occasion provided Davis with an opportunity to join fellow Caribbean leaders outside the formal summit discussions, as cricket served as a common ground for leaders from different countries and cultures.
The Caribbean team was captained by Davis along with Guyana's President, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, and included Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne and St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr. Godwin Friday.
A notable moment came before the match when His Majesty King Charles III, Head of the Commonwealth, performed the ceremonial coin toss to officially open the cricket celebration.
