Long Island Member of Parliament Adrian Gibson is expected to resign from the Free National Movement (FNM), following the party’s decision not to renominate him to contest the Long Island seat in the upcoming general election.

Former MP Andre Rollins has been selected as the FNM’s standard bearer for Long Island, effectively ending Gibson’s bid for a third consecutive term under the party’s banner.

Gibson, who has represented Long Island for two terms, has been noticeably absent from recent FNM events, including party meetings, press conferences and public demonstrations.

His absence had fueled speculation for months about his political future and standing within the organization.

The development comes as Gibson remains embroiled in an ongoing corruption trial tied to his tenure as executive chairman of the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC).

Prosecutors allege that he financially benefited from contracts awarded to individuals within his inner circle during his time at the helm of the government entity. Gibson has denied wrongdoing.

The next general election is constitutionally due this year.
