Ingraham calls urgent meeting on Pintard leadership tonight

Former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has called an urgent meeting with influential senior members of the party to discuss the future of FNM Leader Michael Pintard.

Cars belonging to several prominent FNM figures were seen parked outside the meeting this evening, which comes at a critical time for the opposition party.

The developing fallout follows comments made by Pintard just one day earlier during an appearance on former FNM Cabinet Minister Zhivargo Laing’s radio programme.

Pintard openly criticised comments made by Ingraham at an FNM function last week, saying the former prime minister’s remarks were not appropriate.

Pintard also said Ingraham should have used the opportunity to address the issues currently facing the country, including the ongoing power outages.

Ingraham, during an event marking the anniversary of the FNM’s landslide 1992 general election victory, said the party needs to find a leader who can win.

The comments have raised questions about whether Ingraham was signalling a loss of confidence in Pintard’s leadership.

Ingraham had previously been a vocal supporter of Pintard’s leadership of the FNM.

However, under Pintard, the party lost the 2026 general election and has since suffered defeats in two by-elections.
