FNM Chairman gets wife straight at NIB before election

Free National Movement (FNM) Chairman Carl Culmer pushed to get his wife, Sheena, straight before the General Election by convincing Minister of National Insurance Brensil Rolle to change her position at the National Insurance Board (NIB) from consultant to a full-fledged employee.

Mrs. Culmer was confirmed as an Assistant Manager in the Human Resources Department, cementing her position at NIB in the event her husband’s party is kicked out of office in what is shaping up to be an early election.

Prior to the FNM’s election victory in 2017, Culmer was a junior clerk, performing monotonous filing and data entry tasks in the Treasury Department. However, after her husband’s party got in, Culmer landed a high-paying job as Human Resources Specialist Consultant at NIB despite having no experience or qualifications in this area.

Being the FNM chairman’s wife meant Sheena’s salary doubled from $30,000 a year to over $60,000.

Long-serving NIB employees are disgusted by the Minister’s disregard for the proper process by bringing Mrs. Culmer in as a consultant then appointing her as assistant manager without advertising for the position.

Employees feel it is an insult and a slap in the face to more qualified staffers in the Human Resources Department who were sidestepped for a woman whose only qualification is she married the FNM Chairman.

Years after she was hired, Culmer’s colleagues are still trying to figure out what she does all day as they say she is clueless. Higher-ups instructed employees to train Culmer but they refused, leaving her with nothing to do but twiddle her thumbs and read the newspaper.
