The Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) has signed a $1.04 million contract with Apex Pavers Company Limited for the installation of more than 13,000 linear feet of transmission water mains.

The project, which follows a competitive bidding process, aims to connect the Corporation’s reverse osmosis plant in Kemp’s Bay with the wellfield in The Bluff—a critical link that will enhance water service reliability and expand access across surrounding communities.

Member of Parliament for Mangrove Cay, Central & South Andros and Minister of State, Leon Lundy, called the initiative "a clear symbol of progress" for the region.

“This is a critical link—one that enhances the performance of our distribution network, strengthens service reliability, and expands access to a safe and sustainable water supply,” Lundy said.

The project is part of a broader government vision focused on sustainable water resource development. By integrating the water capacities of both the wellfield and the reverse osmosis system, WSC expects to reduce its dependence on energy-intensive technologies while creating a more resilient and redundant supply system.

“What we see here is progress built on a foundation of prior investment,” Lundy stated. “A government that remains focused, a Corporation that delivers, and a process that reflects careful planning and continuity.”
