A Grand Bahama woman tried to commit suicide on the beach on Saturday night, according to police on the island.
Police officers were patrolling in the Williams Town area around 9pm when they were alerted that a woman was found in the sea and was attempting to take her own life.
Family members, bystanders and officers assisted in saving the woman from herself.
EMS personnel were called to the scene and transported the female to the Rand Memorial Hospital.
Last night’s suicide attempt comes three days after a man in Eight Mile Rock tried to hang himself from a tree.
