UPDATE: Woman murdered in Abaco; suspect arrested


UPDATE:


A second person was shot during an incident that left a woman dead in an Abaco shantytown.


A male who also lives at the home with the woman was also shot and is listed in serious condition.


Officers arrested a male suspect in the Murphy Town area, who is known to the female victim.


Officers, upon searching the male, also recovered a .9mm Smith & Wesson pistol with 38 rounds of ammunition.


An Abaco woman was found dead in her home in the Farm shantytown on Sunday with a gunshot wound to the head.


Shortly after 1:00pm, police were called to a home on Farm Road, Treasure Cay, where the woman’s body was discovered.


After speaking with shantytown residents, police arrested a male suspect in the Murphy Town area, who is known to the victim.


This is the second murder recorded in The Bahamas for the year. On New Years Day, an employee of Stapledon School was found dead at the school on Dolphin Drive with gunshot wounds.
