Vaughn Miller remembered one year after passing

One year after the death of Golden Isles Member of Parliament and former Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Vaughn Miller, tributes continue to remember a man whose public life was shaped by faith, broadcasting and service.

Miller died on September 28, 2025, at the age of 64.

Police reported that an adult male was found unresponsive inside a vehicle on Sears Hill Road in eastern New Providence. He was taken to Doctors Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities later confirmed the man was Miller.

His death sent shockwaves through the political community and across the country.

Long before entering frontline politics, Miller was a familiar voice in Bahamian homes. For nearly two decades, he worked at the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, including leading the ZNS-1240 AM gospel station. His distinctive voice and work as a radio personality made him a household name.

He was also a pastor and community leader, founding Resurrection International Tabernacle Ministries and serving as its senior pastor until his death.

Miller entered frontline politics in 2017, when he was elected as the Member of Parliament for Golden Isles. He served as a Parliamentary Secretary before later joining the Progressive Liberal Party.

He was re-elected in 2022 and, at the time of his death, was serving as Minister of Environment and Natural Resources.

As Environment Minister, Miller championed the protection and stewardship of The Bahamas’ natural resources. His work included efforts focused on understanding and protecting the country’s marine ecosystems.

Prime Minister Philip Davis, in his tribute to Miller in Parliament, described his life as one defined by faith, family, community and service.

A year later, Miller is remembered across the platforms that defined his life whether it was behind the microphone, in the pulpit and in Parliament.
