Two more Covid-19 cases in GB

Two additional cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed on Grand Bahama, which has seen a frightening spike in new cases.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in The Bahamas to 113. There have been 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Grand Bahama - 8 of them tested positive in the last week.

The newly confirmed cases are a 33-year old woman with no history of travel and a 52-year-old man with no history of travel.

Both cases are in isolation at home.

Earlier today, Pizza Hut Freeport announced that it would shut down for two days after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The two new cases come two days after health officials confirmed three additional people had been infected on Grand Bahama.

Health officials also reported two non-covid related deaths. They said the new category has been added to their daily covid dashboard to reflect people who had coronavirus when they passed away but did not die as a result of the virus.
