Teen escapee charged with multiple crimes

A teenage murder suspect who escaped from a police station last week has been charged with multiple crimes.

As reported exclusively by The Gallery, the 16-year-old boy ran from police officers at Central Police Station after he asked to use the bathroom on June 22. He’s accused of shoving a woman officer to the ground after she tried to stop him.

The teenager has pleaded guilty to escape, but has denied assaulting the police officer.

The teen also faces murder and armed robbery charges.

He is accused of the June 17 murder of Kenton Adderley and the attempted murder of Rayshene Rahming at Garden Hills.

The teenager is also accused of the armed robbery of Variety Food Store on December 17, 2020.

Prosecutors say he robbed the store’s cashier of money while armed with an air soft gun.

He returns to court in July.

The teen is being held at the prison because he’s considered a flight risk.
