Sources: DPM aide has coronavirus

Reports coming into the Gallery that an aide of Deputy Prime Minister Peter Turnquest may have tested positive for coronavirus, according to reliable sources on the Royal Bahamas Police Force, who say the officer’s girlfriend may also be infected with COVID.

It is unclear whether the DPM was advised to get tested for COVID-19, which is spreading rapidly on his native island.

Several police officers on Grand Bahama fear they may be infected with the virus as well.

39 of the 153 people who tested positive for coronavirus live on Grand Bahama, which could face a lockdown as of Friday if cases continue to rise.

The island had 11 new cases Sunday - the highest daily rise for Grand Bahama.

Residents there are bracing for the possibility of a lockdown as they say more people have been infected but have not yet been tested.
