Prime Minister Philip Davis is expected to address the nation Monday night amid growing frustration over persistent power outages that have affected thousands of New Providence residents this summer.

The Office of the Prime Minister has advised broadcast networks that Davis intends to deliver a National Address at 8 p.m. on Monday, August 17.

While the government has not disclosed the specific focus of the address, the Prime Minister is expected to speak about the ongoing power challenges and the impact of repeated outages on residents and businesses.

Communities across New Providence have endured frequent and, in some cases, hours-long outages in recent weeks, with Western New Providence particularly hard hit.

The prolonged disruptions have left residents frustrated as households and businesses continue to grapple with unreliable electricity, amid growing calls for answers and a lasting solution to the island's power problems.

Davis is expected to provide an update on the government's response to the crisis and outline steps being taken to improve the reliability of the country's power supply.
