Police Superintendent Testifies in Adrian Gibson Trial

Police Superintendent Bradley Pratt took the witness stand in the Adrian Gibson trial today, shedding light on police procedures and the investigation surrounding the allegations against Gibson.

Under cross-examination by defense attorney Damian Gomez KC, Pratt faced probing questions regarding the protocol for officers dispatched from a police station.

Gomez, representing Gibson, delved into the intricacies of police procedures, particularly focusing on the recording of officers leaving the station premises.

He suggested that the departure of officers should be meticulously documented, raising questions about the handling of such records.

Responding to Gomez's inquiries, Pratt clarified that any records of officers or vehicles being deployed for observation during searches would typically be documented at the station level.

However, he emphasized that the absence of specific records did not necessarily imply misconduct or negligence on the part of the officers involved.

At the heart of the trial are allegations that the FNM MP failed to disclose his financial interests in contracts awarded to companies by the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) during his tenure as executive chairman under the Minnis Administration.

Furthermore, Gibson stands accused of using funds from these contracts to acquire vehicles and properties.

During the course of the investigation, several vehicles, including ATVs, were seized by the police on suspicion of being proceeds from the alleged financial impropriety.
