Prime Minister Philip Davis visited Cleveland Eneas Primary School today to mark a milestone in the National School Breakfast Program, with one million meals now served to primary school students in the public education system.

The program started in eight schools in 2023 and is currently operating in 115 schools across the country, providing students with nutritious breakfasts to start their day.

Schools with a population under 600 and with attendance rates below 89.2 percent were the main criteria the ministry looked at when deciding which schools to use for the pilot.

Minister of Education Glenys Hanna-Martin spoke about the positive impact of the program, including increased attendance.

Cleveland Eneas Primary School, which has 723 students, has seen improved school attendance and grades since the introduction of the breakfast program, according to Pinewood MP Myles Laroda.
