The National Insurance Board’s Baillou Hill Road headquarters closed today and will remain closed on Wednesday for cleaning after another employee tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a memo sent to staff members on Tuesday, “the Board has received information that we have a confirmed case of COVID-19 within our New Providence Headquarters Office.”
“Given the circumstances, NIB is taking the proactive step to close the New Providence Headquarters Offices in order to sanitize our facilities.”
Employees were advised that the office would be closing today and tomorrow to all the staff.
“Staff are reminded that they should not report to work if they are feeling unwell. This is a key aspect of containing this virus. Staff are also reminded to follow the rules related to physical distancing, mask wearing and hand washing,” according to the memo.
“It should be noted that any confirmed case or contacts will be notified by the Ministry of Health’s contact tracing team if there is reasonable risk.”
The office closure comes one day after NIB’s office in Freeport was closed due to a confirmed case.
NIB’s offices have been closed to the public during the two-week lockdown. However, employees were still reporting to work. The public has been advised to go to the national stadium on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to collect benefit cheques.
