Motorcyclist killed in crash on Prince Charles Drive


A man in his mid-forties died this afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle on Prince Charles Drive.


A Chevy SUV was headed east on Prince Charles Drive and was about to turn north onto College Garden Road when the rider of a black and blue Yamaha motorcycle collided with the vehicle.


The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries upon impact.


He was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical services personnel.


It is the second traffic fatality reported on New Providence on Sunday. A man was killed in an accident on New Providence Highway around 4:30am.


The driver of a black Dodge Ram was traveling south on New Providence Highway, while the driver of a silver Ford Edge was traveling north along the same corridor when their vehicles collided.


The front seat passenger of the Ford was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be removed using the Jaws of Life.


He was examined by Emergency Medical Services personnel who pronounced him dead.


The driver was taken to the hospital due to serious injuries to both his upper and lower body. He is currently listed in stable condition.


The Dodge discovered in the eastern lane of the highway sustained significant damage, resulting in injuries to both the driver and passenger.


They were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where they received medical care and were discharged.
