Minnis to relax curfew as he readies for a snap election

Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis will announce plans to relax the nationwide curfew, as he readies for an early election.

According to insiders, Minnis will also report that vaccinations against the novel coronavirus, which causes COVID-19 will begin soon.

These will be the main talking points of the Prime Minister’s national address, which will be aired at 5pm today.

A series of lockdowns and curfews aimed at reducing the spread of COVID-19 have already dealt a devastating blow to the economy, sending once middle-class Bahamians to the unemployment line.

Minnis is hoping to sell the relaxed curfew and the roll out of the vaccine as the road to economic recovery in an attempt to regain lost support from the masses.

Although Minnis has denied that he will call a snap election, his actions have demonstrated otherwise.

The Prime Minister is in full campaign mode, traveling the length and breadth of The Bahamas opening new facilities, many of which were started by the former government.
