Man charged in weekend double murder

Police have charged a 24-year-old man with a shooting that killed two men and seriously injured two others.

Prosecutors have accused Dominique Rolle with the May 14 shooting at Third Street, Coconut Grove that left Akeem David and Lavonne Dawkins dead.

Rolle is also charged with the attempted murders of Shakeem Campbell and Deshawn Rogers.

According to police, the victims were in front of a home around 9pm when two masked gunmen emerged from a dark car and opened fire.

Rolle was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

He was denied bail and will return to court on August 17.
