Man charged in Montell Heights murder

A 22-year-old man is accused of of January 5 shooting death of Carlyle Johnson, the sixth person to be gunned down in a five-day killing spree.

Police say Anthony Enelus, 22, of Palm Beach Court, fatally shot Johnson after he opened fire on a group of men in a yard on Lincoln Boulevard South.

In addition to the murder charge, prosecutors say that Enelus had a firearm with intent to put Alvin Morley in fear.

Enelus was not required to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.

He was denied bail and returns to court on February 12.
