A 60-year-old driver was stabbed in the neck by a man who boarded his bus in the Farrington Road area and asked for money.

The jitney driver was seated in his vehicle collecting passengers when a man boarded the jitney and asked him for money. After the driver told him he had none, the assailant pulled a sharp object and stabbed the driver in the neck before fleeing the scene.

During the suspect’s escape, a female was also assaulted.

Despite his injuries, the victim managed to drive himself to C.I.D. to seek help. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene and transported him to hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

Police later arrested a 39-year-old man in the area of Horseshoe Drive in connection with the incident. The suspect is also assisting police with investigations into two other recent stabbings that occurred on University Drive and College Avenue, which left two other males hospitalized.
