22-year-old Jamaican national Shakeil O’Neil Smith was charged in the Magistrates Court today with attempted murder and five counts of armed robbery, including the armed robbery at Rubis Gas Station on West Bay Street two weeks ago.
Surveillance cameras caught two men shopping the gas station aisles for Pringles and Gatorade before robbing the cashier and a customer of his wallet.
Smith is accused of robbing several businesses of hundreds of dollars over the last few weeks. During one of those robberies, the owner was shot but survived.
Bail was denied and he was remanded to prison.
