House Speaker: Not fit for the chair
Speaker of the House of Assembly Halson Moultrie has once again shown how inept he is.
It was just last evening that he sought to prevent Englerston MP Glenys Hanna-Martin from taking her seat in Parliament unless she apologized to him and his Government.
He claimed that Hanna-Martin made comments, while seated, that he found offensive. Moultrie ought to control his emotional outbursts, which seem to come monthly from the Speaker and are directed only towards Hanna-Martin.
The Speaker should be made to realize that the chair in which he sits is not in his home and he, therefore, cannot arbitrarily invoke his personal biases.
It is clear that this man, much to the regret of his wife, sisters, nieces and mother, has a deeply ingrained misogynistic attitude.
