Thousands of voters in the Golden Isles constituency will head to the polls in one month for the by-election to fill the parliamentary seat for the Golden Isles constituency. The poll will be held on November 24, 2025. The announcement was made earlier today in the House of Assembly by the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe.
“The Parliamentary Commissioner has received notification of the issuance of a writ of election to fill the vacancy arising from the passing of our late colleague, the Member for Golden Isles,” Minister Munroe stated. “The by-election is scheduled for November 24, 2025. A comprehensive statement will be issued by the Parliamentary Commissioner in due course.”
The vacancy follows the sudden death of Vaughn Miller, who previously served as the Member of Parliament for Golden Isles.
The governing Progressive Liberal Party has selected Senator Darrin Pickstock as its candidate for the upcoming by-election. Meanwhile, the opposition Free National Movement has ratified Mr. Brian Brown, an insurance executive, as its nominee.
