A man died tragically on Grand Bahama on Saturday night when his blue two-door Honda Accord ran off the road and crashed into a concrete column in the front of Jack Hayward Junior High School.
The vehicle caught fire on impact.
According to ASP Alfonso Pinder of the Police Traffic Division on Grand Bahama, police received reports of the fatal crash on Cathedral Boulevard around 9pm Saturday.
When police and firefighters arrived on the scene, firefighters extinguished the car fire and discovered a male driver inside the Honda.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. Pinder said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Tonight’s fatal crash comes hours after a man died in a traffic accident involving a truck driven by a defense force officer on Abaco.
Then on Christmas night, businessman Brent Johnson and his wife Eulona died during a three-car collision on West Bay Street and Blake Road.
Four other persons were rushed to hospital.
