A man who spent seven years as a fugitive after allegedly killing his girlfriend’s brother faced a murder charge today.
Jermaine Scott was today charged with the murder of Alejandro “Ali” Bain. He was deported from the U.S. last week.
Scott allegedly roughed up Bain’s sister while at the South River Restaurant and Bar on East Street South. Scott allegedly shot Bain in the head when he stepped in to defend his sister.
Scott, 37, of Dominica Way, Golden Gates, didn’t enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
Scott has been denied bail. Prosecutors intend to send the case to the Supreme Court with the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment on December 3.
