In an attempt to remain relevant, Marvin Dames - the disgraced former National Security Minister - has weighed in on the tragic murder of a soon-to-be-freed inmate.
Timothy Saunders was working as a pump attendant at Rubis Gas Station when he was gunned down on Monday.
Saunders was sentenced to 18 years in prison for manslaughter in connection with the shooting deaths of three people in 2011, but with time off for good behavior, he only had to serve 12 years.
Dames, who was judicially condemned by the Chief Magistrate during the botched Frank Smith trial, questioned how a “man who went up for murder” was on the work scheme.
Now, Dames was always dumb but as a former cop he should know the difference between murder and manslaughter.
What’s more, he has yet to explain why he pardoned serial fraudster Shane Mackey, who had been in and out of prison for the past 20 years.
Dames displayed poor judgment in approving his release by reoffending. He’s now back in prison.
