FNM govt’s $2.8 million Freeport Post Office never completed

More than a year after the Minnis Administration issued a $2.8 million contract for major renovations to the Freeport Post Office, the project remains incomplete.

Wires in the ceilings are exposed as employees go about their daily duties.

The contract was issued in September 2020 and the project was expected to take nine months to complete but the contractor missed the deadline.

Missako Investments Ltd was awarded the multi million-dollar contract for extensive interior and exterior work to the Freeport Post Office.

The project included roof repairs along with electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and structural work.

Millions in taxpayer funds has vanished but the contractor was unable to get the job done.

The Post Office, located in the center of Downtown Freeport, was significantly damaged during Hurricane Dorian in 2019.
