A large shipment of election paraphernalia for the Free National Movement arrived in the country this week, signaling preparations for an early election.
It took two big trucks to carry dozens of Gildan boxes containing FNM shirts and other paraphernalia. One of the Certified Hauling trucks carried over 60 boxes.
Gildan is a popular Canadian clothing brand used by political parties to print their logos and designs on t-shirts, sports shirts and fleeces.
The items are being stored in a building owned by FNM MP for St. Anne’s Brent Symonette.
Workers were seen offloading the boxes outside the building on East Bay Street.
Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis has repeatedly dismissed questions about an early election. However, his political opponents believe it is a ploy to catch them off-guard.
The party is close to completing its full slate of candidates for the upcoming election.
In April, The FNM ratified three more candidates, two newcomers and one incumbent, bringing the total number of candidates named so far to 33.
The Progressive Liberal Party is one candidate away from a full slate. The party ratified seven more candidates on Wednesday night.
