Escaped Haitian Migrant captured in house

Nearly a week after he broke out of Carmichael Road Detention Centre, escaped Haitian National Jack Gerlin has been captured.

“Jacklyn”, as he is called, was found at a home at Pinewood Drive in Southern New Providence at 11pm Wednesday.

He was arrested along with the other occupants of the home.

Neighbors tipped off the Department of Immigration that Jacklyn was lying low at the house. They swooped in during the middle of the night and caught the illegal Haitian National off-guard.

Immigration and Royal Bahamas Defense Force officers discovered Jacklyn had escaped from the detention center last week when they carried out their routine population count early one morning but could not find him.
