Defence Force Officer and brother accused of gang rape

A Royal Bahamas Defence Force marine has been suspended from duties after being accused of gang raping two teenage girls.

After spending five days in police custody, police charged marine Yorick Brice, 26, (in the maroon top) his brother Maximus Brice, 19, and a 17-year-old male with two counts of rape. Prosecutors allege that they raped the female guests at a party on July 12.

They were not required to enter pleas to the charges when they made their first court appearance, today, before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt who denied bail.

Ferguson-Pratt remanded the Brice brothers to the Bahamas Department of Corrections and the juvenile to the Simpson Penn Centre for Boys.

Attorney Bjorn Ferguson represents the Brices and Nathan Smith is the attorney for the juvenile.
