Cowpen Manor shantytown demolished

Five homes, solely occupied by Haitian nationals, were demolished in the Cowpen Manor area as the Unregulated Communities Action Task Force stepped up its efforts to clear shantytowns and other unauthorised communities across New Providence.

The demolition exercise was carried out by members of the task force as authorities continue to identify and assess unregulated communities throughout the country.

The latest demolition comes as the task force continues its assessment of shantytowns across The Bahamas.

Teams are preparing to travel to Andros and Abaco where an aerial shot captured a shantytown.
