BREAKING: Adrian Gibson co-conspirator pleads guilty

A second person has agreed to turn Crown against Adrian Gibson, the embattled FNM MP, accused of lining his pockets with public funds.

Tanya Demeritte, who acted as one of the directors for Elite Maintenance, pleaded guilty to 16 charges related to her role in contracts awarded to the company to do work for the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) during Gibson’s tenure as executive chairman.

Gibson’s former fiancée, Alexandria Mackey, another director of the company, has also agreed to testify against him.

Prosecutors allege that Elite bribed Gibson to get lucrative contracts for painting and landscaping.

After pleading guilty to a total of 16 counts, Demeritte was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $10,000 in compensation to WSC.

During the probation period, she is to be of good behavior.

If she fails to comply, she will be sentenced to two years in prison.
