One person is dead following a boating incident involving three people. One victim and two survivors were retrieved from the water by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force.
The boat ran aground and burst into flames on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters and police are on the scene of the fiery crash in eastern New Providence.
The wild flames and thick plumes of black smoke can be seen from a mile away.
Neighbors looked on as firefighters sought to extinguish the blaze.
Onlookers say the vessel is believed to be a drug boat but police have yet to confirm this.
Officers have blocked off the road.
