Belinda Wilson Re-Elected as President of BNATUC

In a strong show of solidarity and confidence, Belinda Wilson was re-elected as President of the Bahamas National Alliance Trade Union Congress (BNATUC) during its Triennial Meeting held on Friday, May 30, 2025. Wilson will serve a new term from 2025 to 2028, continuing her longstanding commitment to championing the rights and welfare of workers across The Bahamas.
The BNATUC, which represents nine affiliated unions, unanimously endorsed Wilson’s leadership, recognizing her efforts in fostering unity among affiliates and advocating for fair labor practices and social justice. The organization’s affiliates include the Bahamas Public Service Union, Bahamas Hotel Catering & Allied Workers Union, Bahamas Financial Services Union, Bahamas Union of Teachers, Bahamas Taxi Cab Union, Bahamas Livery Drivers Union, Abaco Taxi Drivers & Allied Workers Union, Police Staff Association, and the Correctional Officers Staff Association.
Alongside President Wilson, the following Executive Officers were elected to lead the BNATUC through the next triennium:
Kimsley Ferguson – 1st Vice President
Tyrone Butler – 2nd Vice President
Tiffany Burrell Roberts – 3rd Vice President
Latoya Cartwright-Jones – 4th Vice President
Theresa Mortimer – Secretary General
Sheila Burrows – Assistant Secretary General
Lashon Sawyer – Treasurer
Thomas Tucker – Assistant Treasurer
Narissa King – Trustee
Craig Bethel – Trustee
Torron Williams – Trustee
In her remarks, President Wilson expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and reaffirmed her dedication to empowering workers, strengthening the voice of organized labor, and ensuring that the BNATUC remains a force for equity and progress in Bahamian society.
The newly elected team is expected to focus on legislative reform, workplace safety, fair wages, and the expansion of training and development programs for union members during their term.
