UPDATE:
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority said it is presently investigating an accident involving American Airlines Flight 4194 from Miami to Freeport that occured this morning. The plane was carrying 28 passengers when the landing gear malfunctioned.
An American Airlines aircraft skidded off of the runway at Grand Bahama International Airport this morning after the landing gear collapsed.
Passengers were onboard the aircraft at the time of the incident. However, no one was injured.
One of the plane’s wings and landing gear appeared to sustain damage during the ordeal.
The Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation.
