20 years after she graduated from Queens College, Amanda Wells has been appointed Deputy Head of Foundation Years at the Methodist school.
Wells, a member of the graduating class of 2001, previously served as Head of Phase Two in the Early Learning Centre (ELC).
Her natural ability to connect with her students catapulted the mother of two and phase 2 teacher to a leadership role at the prestigious private school in Eastern New Providence.
Wells will work alongside Joiclyn Taylor, who was appointed Vice Principal, Head of Queen’s College Foundation Years, effective September 1.
Their appointments follow the retirement of veteran educator Virginia Minnis, who begins a new chapter after molding “little comets” for over 40 years.
“Together, both Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Wells bring a wealth of knowledge in early childhood education. We are confident that, under their leadership, our Little Comets will continue to shine, as all Comets do,” Principal Reverend Henry Knowles said in an announcement on Tuesday.
The Gallery congratulates Mrs. Wells on her promotion.
